Day 1:
Madurai to Rameshwaram (175km, 4 hours) - Morning train or drive from Madurai to Rameshwaram (one of four Char Dhams, Shiva pilgrimage on Pamban Island connected to mainland by iconic Pamban Bridge), cross Pamban Bridge (2km rail-road bridge, first sea bridge in India built 1914, blue waters on both sides, fishing boats, train passing alongside road creates iconic photo, central part lifts to allow ships), arrive Rameshwaram, check-in hotel, afternoon visit Ramanathaswamy Temple (one of 12 Jyotirlingas, Dravidian architecture with longest temple corridor in India 1200m with ornate pillars, 22 theerthams/holy wells inside temple for ritual bathing before darshan, devotees take bath in all 22 wells believed to wash away sins, Shiva lingam installed by Lord Rama, non-Hindus allowed in outer areas), evening walk on Agni Theertham Beach (sacred sea beach where pilgrims take holy dip before temple visit, sunrise and sunset beautiful), overnight Rameshwaram|

Rameshwaram to Kanyakumari (310km, 6 hours) - Early morning optional second temple visit or sunrise at beach, drive to Kanyakumari (southernmost tip of Indian mainland where Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean meet, confluence called Triveni Sangam, sunrise and sunset visible from same beach - unique geography), en route lunch stop, arrive Kanyakumari afternoon, check-in hotel, visit Vivekananda Rock Memorial (500m offshore, ferry ride from mainland Ôé╣70 return, rock where Swami Vivekananda meditated 1892 before going to Chicago Parliament, memorial built 1970 with meditation hall, statue, museum, ferry operates 8am-4pm, takes 15 mins, long queues on weekends/holidays), Thiruvalluvar Statue (133 ft tall statue of Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar on adjacent rock, 38 chapters of Thirukkural, base 38 ft representing his virtues, combined ferry covers both), evening attend Kanyakumari sunset (watch sun setting in ocean from beach, unique experience, best from hotel terrace or beach, colorful sky, crowds gather), overnight Kanyakumari|
Day 3:
